Hi everyone, we intend to make at least two journeys into Corfu Town this time, one day time and one evening. I know this subject has been raised before but I can't find the thread, so, where in Corfu Town do you recommend to eat? Simple traditional dishes being the order of the day/night [but NOT fish!]. Some idea of position in the town would also be appreciated.

Try Bekios, opposite the New Port.  A simple grill room, but the food is excellent

Check the Corfu Town heading/section, there are a number of recommendations for restaurants.

Rouvas. Very traditional, mainly used by locals. Gorgeous food. Only open for lunch. If you're coming out of Marks and Spencer, turn right, walk to the corner, turn right again and it's a few doors up. Definitely recommend the sofrito! I'm drooling just thinking about it. Good luck.   Moyra

Try Theodoric brothers taverna down near to the mill on the green bit between the two roads, in the summer they have music most nights, good food, nothing fancy, locals eat there, good value, generous portions, usually very busy. Has a new flooring, fans and red awning.

Agree with Flynnm, Rouvas  at lunch time, some of the most authentic food on the island.
