Hi everyone,
I wonder if you are able to advise/help?
Myself and my partner are getting married in Corfu in May 2014. We are having our reception in Kalami.
I have been looking for accommodation for 4 adults, 1 x 15 year old and 1 x 7 year old around that area but am not really sure how far various resorts are away. We are on a very limited budget and would ideally like to rent a villa/apartment for 2 weeks from 20th May. There are so many sites and so many varying prices, I wondered if anyone has some insider knowledge and knows of something that would meet our requirements.
Please do message back if you can help us out.
Many thanks
LisaConfused

There are many places in and around Kalami, you might try Thomsons for the A&A or A&A direct and Easyjet,

Congratulations Lisa - a wonderful place to get married. Prices in May can be reasonable. For a villa try Villa Plus as they also include heated pools. Also Owners Direct and Agni Travel.

Hi Muffy, that would be great if you could give me the email. Are the prices reasonable? I contacted one place on Owners direct after looking at the costings they advertised but they came back with a quote at twice the price!

Yes will do. Yes their price was really good and the views from all the rooms and pool are breath taking.

Hi Muffy,
Apologies but unable to locate on this forum the private message you sent. Any clues where it would be gratefully accepted. lol

I don't think new members can receive private messages. Not knowing your budget it is difficult to recommend. Definately look at Ownersdirect and Villaplus is showing Villa Cicada showing as available from 19th May (£880 pw for villa only or there is also a flights included option) this is a great position within Kalami village and has its own heated pool.

Thanks everyone, glad it is not me going mad!
I have checked out all the suggestions and most don't have availability or are not quite what we need. Thankyou so much for suggestions though. I have emailed Tony and Julia as suggested, so will wait to hear. Villa Cicadas has no availability now, I guess everyone is starting to think about holidays. Please do let me know if anyone else can think of something to help.Lisa

What a shame Lisa. The problem may be that your 2nd week is UK half term and most places are already booked Unhappy
I am curious, Kalami is a fabulous place for your wedding but intrigued as to why you chose it if you are not familiar with the areaConfused
Suggest you try ownersdirect and enter local locations in the advanced search, ie. Kalami, Agni, Nissaki, Kouloura, Ag. Stephanos (NE only) or Kassiopi.
Good luck.

We went to a wedding in Italy a few years ago.  The guests were all staying at the top of the lake and we got taxis to the church, then the bride and groom hired a boat to take us from the church to the wedding reception on the other side of the lake.  This was lovely as we were all together and enjoyed champagne on-board.  This could be an option for you, which could reduce the price of accommodation by staying in another resort.  Kalami can be quite expensive for villas and the tavernas.

Hi,
I have looked at accommodation in Kassiopi, Nissaki, Agios Stephanos and Barbati but no luck as either way off our budget or not available. Chris is a teacher so we could only get married in school holidays which is a pain but cant be helped. We have booked the wedding through Ionian weddings and the reception at Kalami was one of the venues that they offer. They have them dotted around Corfu but is the one we preferred as it is a taverna on the beach. I do know some resorts in Corfu, just not Kalami. In hindsight we should have started looking before but didnt expect the May half term to be this busy! Will have a look at Agni and Kouloura and look at Trip advisor too. Thanks everyone for your help. Lisa

Is you reception at Thomas' Place? If so just remembered the Pink house http://www.pinkhouse.gr/ which is immediately next door on the beach. It is typically Greek and nothing fancy but may just work for you.

If you have booked Thomas it is lovely with tables on the beach and also has vines covering the restaurant, the meals are lovely and freshly made and the views are great.
