I`ve tried a search but nothing on the forum.

Does anyone know the town/village of Poulades?

I`m just wondering what was nearby walking distance for shops and tavernas. We`ll have a car and intend to go to a different place every day, but sometimes it`s handy to have one or two essential places near you.

What can I expect there? Is it very quiet? Are the roads a nightmare to drive on? I`ve been to Corfu in the past but they were package deals so didn`t do much except the bus into Corfu town one day.

Thanks for any help.

Andy

If  you mean Peroulades, then it is quiet, some good restaurants and a nice beach. Fantastic sunset views can be had from the cliff top restaurant. Poulades is a small village inland from Gouvia, but not much there.

Yes, it`s the one near Gouvia.

How are the roads around that way for driving?

There are no shops/tavernas at Poulades. There is pleasant walking/wildlife towards Gavrolimni lakes. The only shops etc are towards Gouvia coming out onto the main road at Diellas

Poulades does have a wonderful cafeneion, and a panagyri which is still a real village celebration- think it is on Aug 23rd but will check. Otherwise it is purely residential- glad you have a car
