    Posted: 04 Jul 2012 at 6:09pm
I'm not sure how long I'll keep this up once Paxositis really sets in but, remembering how long it lasted for last year (didn't do a report for about 2 months after I got home!) I thought I'd better at least make the effort.

Arrived here on Monday after a lovely couple of days in a baking hot Corfu Town.  Immediately chilled out - both from the cool sea breezes and just the fact of being here  Had our usual first evening couple of drinks in the Europa bar and then off to Tolis Grill, where we were greeted with the news that he's now a Dad  Smile  So big hugs for him and his mum Soula who, after 3 sons and 3 grandsons, now has a grandaughter to fuss over Big smile

Last night was Taxidi bar and Nassos.  Mike was as pleased as Malcy to see that the views at Nassos are just as exciting as ever Wink  When we finally staggered home, we were greeted by our little furry friend, who's been part of our holidays in Loggos since 2005.  We hadn't seen her for the first couple of days and I was starting to reconcile myself to the inevitable, so you can imagine how many tears were shed when she finally turned up at our back door, demanding food and lots of strokes.  She's now made herself at home and I don't think she'll be wandering very far afield over the next 3 weeks, so that's probably helped to save Loggos's bird population for a while LOL

Off to O Gios tonight to reacquaint ourselves with Angelina & co when I can drag myself off this lounger and into the shower.  Nice to see that little has changed here.  It does seem a bit quieter than usual, but I suppose that's to be expected and thereare still quite a lot of visitors around, so I don't think they're in dire straits yet.  We'll just have to our utmost to help the local economy in the best way we can!

More soon - maybe...
I wasn't lost - I was just taking an interesting detour!

Well Tina, it looks as though we'll be venturing from Loggos sooner than expected.  Mike has water on the brain - sorry in his ears - from swimming and was awake most of last night with the pain, so I was also awake with the pain as well Wink .  Anyway, he's agreed to go and visit the farmakia in Gaios to get something for it, so a trip on the early bus to the big town this morning!

Malcy, I'll be glad to give you my opinion on any of the apartments in Loggos.  Did a similar thing a few years ago when we were planning to bring the family out the following year and had a good scout round all the 3 bedroom places we could find.  I think you'd love the servants quarters - so long as you don't want the first 3 weeks in July of course!  Problem is everybody who stays here seems to fall in love with the views and location, so it usually gets booked solid from one year to the next. Where else do you fancy?

Malcy, will you be offering an expenses paid trip to review suitable abodes??Smile

Might be a few volunteers for that arduous task

Mike's now armed with steroid ear drops, antibiotic tablets, painkillers and special earplugs to keep the water out whilst he's swimming, so hopefully that little lot will get rid of it quickly and he'll be able to hear me speaking at normal volume again soon.  Very inconvenient at the moment having to shout, when I want to draw his attention to somebody passing by!

We heard yesterday about the 2nd Paxos triathlon which is taking part next Saturday.  The bike part comes through Loggos, so maybe a photo op or two!

Oh dear. Don't think you'll need to look for us Elaine.
We've put a registration of interest on Villa Martha (sitting at the Roxi Bar looking up at the hill. Martha is at about 11.00 o clock near the top at Dondiatika) We stayed there 3 years ago. Lovely infinity pool and superb view down to Loggos. You walk down the Donkey Steps to Loggos.
So much for trying to save money. I'll be an OAP but you can't take it with you when you pop your cloggs so lets do a villa (and boat) again. Might have to be a tent next time or Devon in the caravan! (wer're off there in September. 2nd outing. Might try to put up the large awningLOL)
I'm glad that Mike is enjoying the view at O Nassos. It is something you can sit back and savour. ...WinkBig smile

Elaine
Might you know what company/individual has the apartment on 1st floor overlooking jetty on corner to right of bakery on road up to Manor House (on corner at right angles to the Spiros Jetty House and Roxy Bar?) If you had contact details that would be great. Also am looking for a place for 3 adults for 3 nights in Loggos on 1st to 3rd Sept if you knew anywhere nice to recommend in village? We would love a place with a pool but not essential. We are splashing out for upmarket villa for next 6 nights so cheap and cheerful is fine. Thanks

Hi Therese, the sign on the corner building says JM Property (jmproperty.com), but they deal mainly with sales, so I'm not sure if it's for rent at the moment.  The only place that I know of actually in the village with a pool is the Nicos apartments. I've stayed there a couple of times and they are only very small apartments, just right for 2 people, but they are (or at least were!) quite cheap, so maybe you could stretch to 2 of them?  Contact details here - http://www.paxos-holidays.com/dir/index2.php?my_id=23&end_id=33&lin=open&rigname=&end=33&lang=&old_id=&title=Nicos%20Apartments  Otherwise, there are a few on this page which will sleep 3 - http://www.paxos-greece.com/placestostayloggos.htm  The Marmari stone house and apartment are particularly pretty and only about 5-10 minutes walk from the village centre.
I wasn't lost - I was just taking an interesting detour!
