For those who are interested, a new English chippy has opened in the lane down to the jetty, turn in at the Photoshop. They plan to stay open during the night to catch the clubbers as they head back to their accommodation. Not my personal cup of tea, but whatever rocks your boat! And a lot of the resident British are thrilled! Moyra

Andy remember there are a lot of residents there from the UK who miss fish and chips as well as other residents from other parts of the world who also enjoy them sooooo...

Andyroo, where McDonalds was is now a takeaway gyros place! Although Alecko's on the main street opposite the church is very good. Been their for years and is used a lot by the locals, always a good sign! Moyra

Is that recent then or do you mean the place a little lower down from Mcdonalds? We like to go to the gyros place further back from the Liston it is in a sort of square, I think Rick Stein visited it one time. |

Andy you may have your wires crossed, I think you are talking about Corfu Town and Moyra means Sidari. The post is about a chippy that has opened in Sidari.

Do they catch cod in Greece? If they did and it was mega fresh it might be worth trying - I have to say that although we live in Devon and are surrounded by the sea I have never tasted such good fish and chips as we had in Whitby one wet holiday - delicious, fresh from the sea
I am more a Greek salad girl myself when in Corfu though. |

If I can't get anything to eat when I arrive in Sidari (latish flight), I'll pop into the chippy.
If I remember correctly Churchills was always packed with their fish & chip meals |

The new place is doing cod and haddock, English sausage etc. Quite an extensive menu, I believe. And yes, I was talking about Sidari. Moyra
