" ..... but
there's no doubt they seem to prefer some people more than others".
Janet I couldn't agree more. I think we all know people who take the necessary measures to be 'bite-free' but fail miserably. That was me last time on Corfu! That said nothing ventured - nothing gained. I'm with Alec when it comes to Tzatziki. Even if it doesn't work it's very tasty! David |

We always use Jungle Formula roll on for our skin and the liquid Jungle Formula plug ins in the room. We also take the Jungle Formula roll on out with us at night as well just in case the little blighters are buzzing around us. We usually leave the plug ins in 24/7 during our stay as well.

Some Excellent replies. Brilliant.
Avon (Skin so Soft) is a popular choice. My Dee rates it highly.
We have the Zapper's But it's a bit late then yheyve allready punctured You!!! We have Citronela Spray, Citronela Candles, Plug In's Jungle Formula, etc, etc, etc. We allways book Extra Luggage weight to carry everything. Allways drink lot's of GIN!! Doesn't stop the Blighters, but You can't feel anything for the evening. Start the Marmite on toast NOW!!!
Take the Marmite with you, make some TOAST, Spread Heavily with Marmite and Place around The Balcony and Accomodation. That will attract the Mozzies, their feet get STUCK TO IT. Wap with a rolled up newspaper and place IN BIN!!! I allways SIT next to MY DEE! She then takes ALL THE BITES.
Unfair, BUT EFFECTIVE. If you have problems let me know, Il'e get her TO SIT NEXT TO YOU!!! Were in Kalami from May 12th. Take care Keep Smiling. Allways remember while their biteing You, there leaving somebody else alone!! It's called Care In The Community. Woodie & Dee

Apologies if this has already been asked but how long does a bottle of So Soft last? Will one bottle do two adults and a child for a fortnight?
Cheers |

I have tried everything over the years. Garlic, Marmite, Vitamin whatever, Skin-so-Soft, Jungle Formula, citronella, yada yada yada and nothing worked at all. NOTHING. Then I tried Boots own brand insect repellent (tropical strength) lotion. It is in a grey bottle, and since I started using it I have not been bitten at all (except for when I forget to put it on lol). Its available in roll on and spray too, but we always use the lotion. After a shower, just rub a 10p sized blob onto your hands like hand cream, and apply to arms and legs (and anywhere else exposed) - I should say a 10p sized blob for each arm and leg lol. Doesnt smell horrid and although feels a bit greasy when you first put it on, it is absorbed into the skin and is completely non greasy. Im praying that they havent changed the formula since last year, cos just today I bought three bottles for the price of 2!!! One full bottle is enough for two people for two weeks.

Hi all!
This will be our 3rd year running to Corfu
Last year I was armed with all sorts of repellents, we had the Xpel mossie wipes (Poundland) in hand luggage which we used as soon as we landed it was a late flight landed at midnight so mossies were out in force!, sprayed apartment with Raid as soon as we arrrived and every evening before going out for dinner, spraying apartment and closing windows worked brilliantly.
Put plug ins in each room. We used lemon shower gel, soap etc. Avon skin so soft dry oil spray was lovely not only worked throughout the day and night but doubled up as a great moisturiser after all that sunbathing!
RESULT???
Not one bite!!!
Hope this helps x

Lol, it is a military operation!
Something worth mentioning. Although we complain when we get bitten, most people just get a bit itchy and heal within a few days. The unlucky few, like my daughter, take a severe reaction to them, with a large swelling at each bite and a flu-like feeling. If this happens, you need to see a doctor ASAP and get a steroid injection and antibiotics- this has happened to my poor daughter a few times, despite taking all precautions. |

The mossies seem to have just made an appearance in the last few days. Not seen too many yet though.

Still swear by Tiger Balm if you get a bite. Noticed the UK shop has some in stock here in Sidari.

We were only going to take hand luggage, but have had to change our plans, couldn't fit in all the Skin so soft; Jungle formula; Marmite; anti-hystamine; plug ins; sprays; vitamin B etc etc. LOL

Just a brief thought... I've probably used everything found in the market place and noticed that when I've rubbed everything in, being the well brought up young thing that I am I wash my hands. Well I will be eating.... One guess as to where I always get bitten?

If I were you I would take at least three. If you put it on sparingly it wont work, if it works at all. As you can see by previous posts different things work for different people. We have had a go at most things over the years. The best for us seems to be Jungle formula
