Hi. We are booked for our usual 3 week break in Acharavi

next August, but this year, we have decided to have a short break (3 nights, 4 days)

in Messonghi too. We have booked the Aquarius Apartments and have

never really explored the South of the Island. So my questions are:

1.       Which tavernas/bars are a must visit in Messonghi/the surrounding area?

2.       Which places/beaches are a must see whilst there?

We are a family of 4 with a 3 and 12 year old, and we will have a hire car so travelling

around the South of the Island is no problem.

All recommendations are much appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Where do I start? Tavernas Bacchus/Minories are very good as are the others! If you drive down the coast road to Boukari/Petriti you will find a host of places to stop for a dip and many taverna's along the road. So first stop would be the Fisherman's Haunt Psara then on to Boukari and finally Petriti with its fish restaurants along the harbour. But it's "fun" finding out for yourself when exploring a "new" area of Corfu

I second everything Gerry said. There is another lovely place called Notos Beach further on from Petriti, the beach on the right has lovely gardens with hammocks spread around, a taverna and the sea is shallow and calm with canoes, body boards etc use for free. The kids would love it, you can get Christos boat there from the Messonghi river for a lovely boat trip day out that isnt too long.

Hi, Minore taverna in Messonghi is a must...great, family run restaurant and Boukari beach taverna, just before the Boukari harbour.
Keep calm and think of Corfu!

For me an evening sat outside the Fisherman's Haunt looking over to Messonghi, having something to eat and drink but I'm biased I think well there are sooooo many to choose from!
