Hi,
We have just booked the seaside apartments in Messonghi and the position looks great (on the beach). What type of beach is it presently? I have researched this and found differing viewpoints. Some say it is sand/shingle others say it is course pebbles. From experience I know beaches can change yearly - sometimes weekly in stormy weather. I have just returned from Moraitika and the beach there was OK by Alexakis. How does the beach in Messonghi compare with Moraitika. I believe the beach in front of the Messonghi Beach hotel is stoney and the sea full of sea grass but the Seaside Apartments are on the south side of the river. Any up to date input on the beach and resort will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi
We were in Messonghi at the end of May and I would describe the beach as mainly sand/shingle, but it does vary at different point of the beach. (and like you said it changes with the weather). I usually find its OK when you're in the sea because its mainly sand after a few feet. We'll be back in September and staying at the Seaside Studios, and have stayed there a few times before - if you're happy with clean but basic rooms then you'll be rewarded with fantastic location. Have a great time!
