Betty and I are heading back to Acharavi in June (3rd year in a row) but this time we will be staying in the Matoula Apartments. We have had two magnificent holidays staying in the Eriva and are sure the Matoula will be every bit as welcoming. We would be grateful for any thoughts, tips and advice

Hi,
Have stayed there the past few years and they had a massive refurbishment last year and have to say they have always been some of the cleanest, well kept apartments we have ever stayed in and all the staff are friendly and the food at the pool bar is reasonably priced -- enjoy

Many thanks for the positive report. Helps to be re-assured. We as said previously have had two magnificent holidays in the Eriva.
We have found the apartments to be clean on arrival and cleaned regularly thought the two weeks with clean towels and bed linen provided. We did have small problem with the shower head last year but just mentioned it at reception on the way out and found it fixed on our return. Nice swimming pool with a safe area for smaller children. The music at the pool will be the choice of whoever is behind the bar. Just ask for a change if not to your taste. Requests will be played. The owners and staff were all very friendly. As is everywhere we visited on the island.

Forgot to say. We only had coffee and drinks at the pool bar, but do not think snacks and meals were too expensive. One of our favourite places to eat is The Acharavi Park, good food at a good price and lovely people. We were an all adult party so easier to get up and go wherever we fancied.
Please forgive any spelling errors. Yamas.

Yassas Betty and Boab, delighted to see you're now booked and counting down the weeks (18) until Holiday No 3 in Acharavi. Looking forward to meeting up you in Corfu town, Kassiopi and of course visiting all the old haunts when we come through to Acharavi for a visit. That's the plan anyway!

Stayed at the Matoula several times and will be back again at the end of July this year, great place and people.

In previous years, Matoula was exclusive to First Choice/Thomsons, after First Choice changed to "All-Inclusive" only, Thomsons were prepared to still run them but at a lower cost.

The Matoula owner decided to go his own way instead, now from the UK you can book Matoula with Cosmos/Monarch and Jet2 or independant.

Last year, there were a lot of Italians and Russians there as well, they rarely frequented the bar or pool area, there were tales that those from the UK that had booked independant were gazumped by the Italians/Russians as they paid more.

The bar last year when we arrived in August was being run by Demi and Chris, both very pleasant but not a patch on Nikos who had been there for the last two years, sadly his bad back had got the better of him although he does still have his gift shop up in the village.

The rooms have a safe and air-conditioning which both cost extra, fridge, 2 hobs, basic TV and a hair-dryer in the bathroom, never had need to ask for extra's so not sure what else they can supply.

The food that Caterina provides is decent and well priced.

As you're going in June I guess you won't be bothered by too many kids so will probably have the pool to yourselves.

No need to say anything about Acharavi if you've stayed at the Eriva, enjoy your holidays.
