Some of our members may remember last year I posted about me and Mr PE having to cancel our holiday after having spent the last 25 years in Corfu each time. This was due to the fact that Mr PE was diagnosed with a terminal cancer, which has progressed in as much as he only has a few months left of his life.
Sorry to post such a depressing subject but I am now determined that he shall have another week in Corfu if at all possible. The problem is that he will need oxygen every now and then and I have no idea how this can be arranged over there.
He has a supply to use on the flight out and back but I wondered if any of you lovely members on the island have information regarding the arrangements I can make for the days we are there.
I know this is a long shot, but it would make me happy to have him enjoy just one more break in the place that we both love so much.

Hope you get this sorted Pam, I lost Mic in March to Motor Neurone Disease, our first abroad holiday together was to Ipsos as was our last in May last year.  It meant so much and holds happy memories.  Good Luck, if anyone can help you the Forum Members can.Handshake

What a sad tale, I hope you are successful in your quest.
I imagine it would be possible, afterall dialysis patients can transfer their treatment to the Corfu hospital by arrangement.
Have a word with Mr PE's oncology team, they might have some information.

Just checked a travel website called www.Goworldtravel.com and their suggestion is that your oxygen supplier should be able to advise you how to organise extra oxygen when your travel supply runs out.
Good luck.

Thanks to Catha45 and Bob for your input. So sorry for your loss Catha45. I lost my only sister in March also, so I really want to do something extra for Mr PE
I will certainly look into both options. Will let you know how I get on.

Hi Pam,
According to the link below if you are travelling abroad, your respiratory specialist or oxygen supplier will be able to provide you with contact information for companies that provide oxygen therapy outside the UK. However, you will need to pay for this.

Will you be using a travel company or going independently?

Just to let you folks know, I have been in touch with Oncology and they are unfortunately, very much against travelling abroad at this time. Hopefully, we may be able to get away for a break somewhere in the UK. Many thanks all for your help.

That's a shame, but you can understand their concern. However, to put a positive spin on it you will have a nice pot of money saved to splash out nearer home.
Good Luck.

Just to let you lovely folks know, we sadly never made it to Corfu. My lovely husband passed away very peacefully in the early hours of Friday 1st August.
I shall be returning nevertheless, at some point in the future, as like many others on this site, it is my 'second home'

So sorry to heard your news Pam Ella. I am certain Mr PE would want you to return to Corfu, when the time is right. It is so sad he could not visit for one last time but you have your memories to give you solace. xx

I know there was a topic some time last year regarding carrying ashes to Corfu.
As I now need to carry some of my late husbands ashes to Corfu as soon as possible. Can anyone tell me if this is OK to do, and how best to achieve it, on board flight and through customs?
