Sue and I (Ray) arrive 11th June for 2 weeks of mostly sitting on our Limani Apartment balcony (2nd floor) with a glass of wine in hand watching the constant stream of boats, yachts and people on and around the harbour.  We have stayed here 3 times before and keep coming back falling in love with Kassiopi many years ago when touring the island in a hire car (out of Acharavi). We book through the Kassiopi Corner.
As well as relaxing, we like the friendly International atmosphere of the bars when watching the Football (nothing quite like a cold beer, warm sun and football on the big screen without having to go to work tomorrow).  Most often we watch it on the veranda of the 1st bar on the right as you walk up the main street from the harbour. This has the added attraction of watching people walking past and the amazing swallows whizzing over your heads on the way to their nests, if the football gets a bit tedious. We will be cheering on England, Greece and Ireland in Euro 2012 but not sure if we will make it off our flight to make the first England match against France (18.00 CET).  Key matches are:
- Greece vs Cze 12 June 18.00 CET
- Ireland vs Spain 14 June 20.45 CET
- England vs Sweden 15 June 20.45 CET
- Greece vs Russia 16 June 20.45 CET
- Ireland vs Italy 18 June 20.45 CET
- England vs Ukr 19 June 20.45 CET

At least the times are more convenient than the Japanese World cup when we were watching matches from 11am (bit early for a beer).

No doubt see some of you forum posters joining in or walking by, but of course, I won't know who you are.
Have great Holidays all of you.   Ray and Sue.

We also going for the football, hence why we are going for 3 weeks instead of 2, cannot bear to go home after the final with a deadly hangover!!  We watch it either in Visions or the Lime bar. Hope to catch up with you on holiday, Ray and Sue, always nice to catch up with other Scots!!

LOL We may live in Scotland (and I am sitting here with a stunning view up to the Wallace Monument), but we are definitely not Scottish - hence we will be cheering on England (I am not sure you will be); But Visions (the bar along the road to the right up from the harbour) is where we usually go; so you can track us down from our profile picture for a bit of friendly England football banter.  I may be in an England shirt.
Although I just noticed, the England match on the 15th clashes with my 15th Wedding Anniverary Cry!!  Looks like early dining on that day Wink - Lucky my wife (Sue) loves the footy too Big smile

I will indeed be cheering England on, not sure if I am going to take my England outfit with me though as my husband, Roy, who is English, tells me that they aren't going to get through and if that were the case we would only get one match while there!!!  Will most definately see you in Visions and will look out for you, I dont seem to be able to upload a picture to my avatar but you will see us both in my picture gallery. Look forward to seeing you.

We will look out for you too. Not the most optimistic build up to the England campaign
I am sure there will be some good footy along the way.

Apparently the England team visited a Polish orphanage today.
"Its so so sad to see their sad faces with no hope to look forward to" quoted Igor, aged 6.Wink

If you want to enjoy the football with an enthusiastic Greek crowd head to Seasons bar in Kassiopi (where I am typing this now).

Watched most matches in Illusions and even won a bottle of bubbly in the picture quiz. We watched the Greek matches in the Limani cave along with Greek commentary surpassed only by the enthusiastic young Greek crowd you leapt with whooping joy when Greece got through to the Q F s. Well done Greece. Come on England (Tuesday) where we will probably be in lively Illusions winning the quiz again!
