Hi everybody,

I've planned to go to Kefalonia this summer on July for 1 week with my boyfriend and I've been recommended to stay in Lassi from a travel guide in a travel agency as I told that I prefer a sandy beach.
It will be my first visit to Kefalonia and I was wondering how Lassi is. Can anyone give me some tips who has been to Lassi before? Some good hotels or even apartment hotels?
I've heard that there was a taverna with a live music which sounds great because we prefer the traditional style of a culture.
Would be nice to hear some tips from those who has been to Kefalonia and has some expierences about the island Smile /alara

We loved Lassi. We travelled independently and stayed at www.simatos-apartments.com which I can't recommend highly enough. Lovely owners who pick you up from the airport, in a great position near the beach and a short walk to the restaurants. There is a pool just across the way which you can use, it has really pretty gardens and a laidback atmosphere. Lassi is close to the capital, so you can easily take a taxi if you want a change of scene. We hired a car and drove all over the island (and we were glad we chose Lassi!). The scenery in Kef is stunning and very dramatic. Take a trip up the west coast!! Amazing. The underground lake at Melissani is worth a look, so is Fiskardo in the north. The view points around the island are incredible so hiring is a car recommended - about 3 days is probably long enough to see the island. The beach is beautiful and the west coast also gets great sunsets. Can't remember having a bad meal - food was all fab. Lassi isn't as busy as some people make out, so don't go expecting Blackpool - it's not! But it has more life than other resorts so there are a few music bars etc. We took our two small children and found it the perfect balance. Small point - we did have an earthquake when we were there - very regular by all accounts - so the earth may move for you! Enjoy.

Thank you Leelee for your good advice Smile Yes I've read about the island, I've seen some videos and pictures of Kefalonia and that's why I fell in love with this gorgeous place.
I've also heard Lassi wasnt so crowded and that sounds great for us. We enjoy seeing attractions rather than being stuck in a hotel for a whole week so I will take notes about the places we can visit.
Yes the earthquake, I know, even if its not fun I have experienced that a couple of times in Turkey so I'm familiar with that. We can hope that it wont be some heavy earthquakes.
Thanks a lot for the tips Leelee Thumbs Up and I'm really looking forward to visit this beautiful island on July this summer Smile
