Just read on a Facebook Forum on one of the popular bars in Agios Gordios that the Municipality of Corfu are clamping down on music bars and putting a curfew of 11.30 p.m. on outside music and are even closing some bars down.
To me this would be a shame, I suppose it depends on just how loud the bars play their music.
Anyone got any info on this? Thanks

I think your information source is the same as mine. I heard the bar owner about issues around the music in June.
I can imagine that certain measure are taken to lower the volume a bit at some places but no outside music at all seems a bit harsh. Almost all nightlife is outside, that's part of the whole summer holiday experience. |

Wake up in a studio with seaview,
go downstairs to a bar with seaview, down a few more steps to the beach.... yep, seaview again :-) I love Dandidis, Agios Gordis |

I thought it was a general rule that no music outdoors after 12 midnight, I'm sure I remember the Police driving though Ipsos many years ago and enforcing the rule

I can remember in Rhodes in 1986 the police driving past our local bar and the staff turning the speakers inwards and lowering the volume only to turn it back up again once they had passed. This has been the standard ruling for many years, sometimes enforced with vigour, sometimes largely ignored.

It's been going on for years in Kassiopi. The police drive past every night. I have been told by locals that Bars can be shut down for persistent offending, but that is very rare. So it's nothing New

Happens all the time in Sidari on a regular basis and some are persistently ignoring the rules hence being shut down until they pay their fine!!!
