Just booked a cheap flight for 4 days in late April 2013. Looking for a nice hotel within Corfu town but not expensive. Just want a place to lay our heads after busy days exploring the town. Any ideas? Hug

In terms of 'value for money' I think Hotel Konstantinoupolis probably fits the bill.

A couple of weeks ago I stayed at The Arcadion Hotel which is a bit dearer.

Hi Gaz1,

The Atlantis on the Port road is good, but, ask George for a sea view. You can watch the ferries coming in...Nice.

If he doesn't have one do what David said, Konstantinoupolis Hotel is more central too.

We always stay at the Bella Venezia for a couple of nights on our way to Paxos.  It's on a quieter back street, but still only 5 minutes walk to the Liston.  Really friendly, helpful staff and brilliant reviews on Trip Advisor!
I wasn't lost - I was just taking an interesting detour!

Many thanks to you all. I've gone for the Hotel Konstantinoupolis. Seems to be in a good position to explore the old town. Next question, any ideas on the cost of a taxi from the airport to the hotel and as we are going in late April, shall we pack our wellies and jumpers?

Really good choice, Gaz! I hope you'll love hotels' old-time atmosphere, harbour view and central location.
Taxi costs about €15-17 I think (but what will be in April... God knows). There's also Blue Bus line from the Airport (€1.10) but the stop is in San Rocco square that is about 650 m walk from the hotel. So if you have much luggage better take a taxi — it's rather tricky to roll the suitcase by the rough tiles of Corfu Town pavements.Wink

We once went to Corfu for Greek Easter at the end of April, and we certainly needed warm sweaters for the nighttime. Even managed 2 hours on the beach, so I would make sure that you had rainwear too, just in case, and if you have protection with you, hopefully, you won't need it.

Well done Gaz! As StarMel says it's a good choice.

I would baulk at paying €15-17 for a taxi. That's a bit steep in my view. Agree the fare with the driver before you get in. Pay no more than €10-12.
