Hi, is anyone going to Liapades Beach Hotel at the end of May? With all this bad weather we can't wait to get there. We had a fantastic two weeks there in September so have booked three this time as there were a lot of places we didn't get to see and eat. The walking is great as long as you take your time and the views are breathtaking.

I have always fancied staying there, I remember asking about it on here last May. We actually come to Corfu for 3 or 4 weeks in the summer holidays, but for May half term I like to go with my elder daughter (22) when the weather is cooler for walking. Although 2 years ago went to Arillas and could only walk a few days as their was a heatwave, as you know the walks in that area are very hilly.
I have booked somewhere in Nissaki from 4th June, I thought that might be good walking area, but now you have reminded me of Liapades I might re-think my plans. I will take a look now.
Thanks Kaytee, will you be there on my dates? It would be nice to meet a regular forum member.

After about 40 minutes of searching and investigating every inch of Liapades, as you do, I have come across 2 other nice sounding places. One is Villa Katerina.net (uses Liapades beach pool), and the other place is Michalis Apartments, has their own pool and taverna attatched.
Just wondered on your thoughts Kaytee as you might have come across these 2 on your walking?
Found a good site called clickhere.gr with special offer on Michalis, worth looking at.

Hi Carolox, Villa Katerina is just above Liapades Beach Hotel and I think is owned by a relative. Down a few steps and across the garden to the Cricketers Taverna. All rooms look towards the sea and I think on the second story you may see across to Paleo. We loved the hotel last September. Had the penthouse apartment and the views were fab, especially with a drink in your hand watching the sunset over the bay. We are doing B and B this time as we want to try other tavernas. Michalis looks very nice but didn't eat there, will do this time. I think there maybe some connection as the telephone number is the same and Michalis answered the phone to me when I rang to speak to Spiros. It's very hilly but well worth it for the views and the little square with the plane tree and kafenions around is so typically Greek. Yes we will be there on 4th June so if you do decide to change plans we may well be able to meet up. If you do let me know and I will PM you with my mobile number.

Forgot to say take a look at Liapades Hotel website there is a tour around the hotel and you can get a feel of the place. On the Liapades site there is a walk up the road to the village and it takes you past Michalis.

Hi Kaytee,
The Liapades Beach Hotel is busy at the end of May time so a good place to stay. Lots of walkers use it as a base or passing through if on the Corfu Trail. Some stay 2 nights as it is the half way point. You get individuals, couples, small groups and the larger groups with the bigger walking holiday companies. Mainly Brits and Germans but others as well. It makes for a lively atmosphere in the restaurant and bar area. They also sometimes arrange a Greek Nite on a Friday or Saturday.

Hi Dave, this will be our second visit, we loved it in September so have booked our usual three weeks at this time of year. We stayed in Agios Gordis for nine years sometimes twice but decided we needed to try elsewhere and glad we did, but it may be too quiet for some people. Didn't realise it was halfway on the Corfu trail. We did quite a lot of walking lasT year and the view are really something.

Hi Kaytee,
I settled on Nissaki in the end so we won't see each other this time after all.
I thought with my daughter who will be 23 by then, it might be better to be on a good bus route to visit other places.
Enjoy your holiday, not long now, I can't wait especially with all this bad weather here.

I can't wait either. It is a bit of a hike up to the bus stop in Liapades. Are you stopping at the top of the hill on the main road? Do go and have a meal at the taverna on the right of the road down to the beach, at the bottom just before the Olive Tree. View looking out over the water is fantastic and the foods not bad either!!! Have a good time.

Hi Kaytee,
In reply to where we are staying, hope this is ok as this is the Liapades forum, we are staying down the hill near the beach at Nissaki Sea View. I believe there is a few nice tavernas down there and up on the road.
Good news is I booked with Late Rooms.com and pay in euros when I get there, so it looks like it won't cost me as many pounds as I thought.
More good news my daughter who I am going with has just finished uni yesterday and also heard she has got a job in London she had an interview for last week, she starts the week after we get back from Corfu. How great is that.
Enjoy your holiday too
