Thats very kind of you both. We only need a few billion more followers, and then I can put my plans into action. Maybe Facebook would be a good place to start.

I think you will find that the 50% decrease in tourists from Ireland travelling to Greece is not due to lack of interest but is caused by the VERY high prices we have to pay. Falcon quoted me €1,900.00 for two adults and two children for a one week holiday in the beginning of June in Loulas Village. (I didn't even want to stay there). Needless to say I did not go with them.
This is what the airlines need to take note of and what is causing the current trend.
If my family and I could fly direct from Dublin to Corfu with Ryan Air I would probably pay close to a quarter of that (not including accomodation). When I checked to see what it would cost me to fly Dublin-Leeds-Corfu return it was about €700.
I think you would find that if Ryan Air did start to fly Dublin-Corfu there would be a lot of people availing of it and the tour operators would be crying to the media about the loss of business (which would be a situation of their own making).
Regards,
Scotty.

I must agree with Scotty the price from Ireland to Corfu is stupid. Ryanair already fly into Corfu from many airports in England from as little as 30 euro we are just asking why not charge us 3 or 4 times that price and fly from Dublin, it would still be a hell of a lot cheaper than the holiday companies are asking. I was quoted 579 for one week in a 3 star in September. Ryanair do take intrest in everything thats said and wrote about them and that is why the Ryanair to Corfu facebook page was set up. We were told by a senior staff member that our cause would swing the balance when they come to choseing new routes and that is why we are asking people to join our page on facebook.
In responce to another comment as I said Ryanair already fly to Corfu so airport charges and such can not be such a big issue for them as they deal with Corfu airport already. |

Everybody seem to be talking about the charges at the Corfu end of the journey but perhaps the answer lies at the Irish end and Ryanairs' attitude to the Irish Government and its repeated efforts to takeover Aer Lingus
