Hiya Matthews we stayed at the Theodoras last year and will be back in August with all the family (15 in total) needless to say we loved it and I am sure you will have a brill time. We usually stay in Acharavi which is a bit quieter Roda has something for everyone what ever thier age. Lovely restaurants on the beach were you can sit and enjoy a loverly sunset while eating delicious meal. Pirates Bar and Oscars are also good to visit. Roda Park and Nikkos family teverna are both good places to eat but I am sure you will enjoy were ever you eat  Smile
Jill & Rob looking forward to next holiday to Corfu

I love Roda never stayed there not sure why but my kids teenagers and love Sidari we always go to the Mexican in Roda it's about the only night we don't eat Greek, though never eat Mexican here the steaks are massive I had a pork chop think I got half the pig. Lots of bars shops etc but I love a stroll on the beach before dinner place has a lovely feeling, sure you will have a great time. Sedgi x

We are staying at the same apartments in a couple of weeks - will let you know when we get back!  It will be our 5th time in Roda but the first time we have stayed here.  We only booked it last week - we are also going to Corfu (Kalami) on 23rd July but can't wait till then to see our beautiful island!

As most regular users will know Ime a southerner to the island as we have our own Greek home there ...
and sing its praises from the highest hill ...
BUT we stayed Roda 3 years ago as a change,  as the memebrs on here were always telling me off for saying Ide never looked properly. (we had been going to the Island  for 30 years so had looked) we took time to look around and Roda takes some beating for eateries, bars, and friendly folk and not too commercial. Not to many English bars either a little more traditional .

9 out of 10,
Well who gives a 10 anyway,
Ime sure youlle enjoy as much as we did

I stayed in Roda in the Kaftez rooms, yes rooms 1985 ish, one kitchen for six rooms and we all had one room each, wonderful memories of the place it was near the Roda crossroads and as we got off the coach two lads were pie eyed on the floor outside the Pink Panther disco. We went in a restaurant called Delicious every night as we got well looked after.

There was also a restaurant on the sea front where a waiter with a sailors hat on was very persistant for many years when we visited, trying to get us in his restaurant, I cant remember the restaurants name. I gave much more cheek than he gave me but I never went in his restaurant as I hate being hassled.

Hi, I have been a regular to Roda for last 6 yrs. The restaurant referred to by Daveneil we have never been to for the same reason but it is very well liked by a lot of people. Smileys,  is also well liked but we just about walk on the beach to avoid being hassled. If you are staying at Theos, I am sure you will enjoy as it is one of the most popular places to stay though we have never stayed there. Our favourite places are,
Five Roses (formerly Opa) for food, views and service.
Pangalos, food and views
Drossia, food
Nikos family Taverna, food
Roxannes, drinks and views
Pirates, air-conditioning, catching up on news and drinks/snacks
There are plenty of others which I am sure will be listed. Hope you enjoy your stay.
Bev.

Hi,

The New Port restaurant on the beach is a great place to eat, we have been going for years and we know the family very well.  There's nothing better than eating your meal on the beach with the sun going down!  You cannot miss it blue and white check cloths on the table, you will be very happy.

Regards Pegasus

Hi Matthews,

We have stayed in the Theodoras for a number of years and it has a nice pool, nice staff, well equipped rooms and within walking distance of anywhere for anyone. We are off there in three weeks and no doubt we will have a lovely time. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Regards, Pegasus.

Hi Daveneil,

The sailor was not a sailor but Vangelis, he was known as the Captain and thought by many, to be the owner of the New Port Restaurant (on the beach) but he wasn't but that is another story! The New Port is still there, they do have someone front of house like most of the restaurants on the islands because they want your custom, and they want you to come back.

We were the same as you, never going in but now we go in for all of our meals and the family that run it, that have always run it are there working hard every summer just so we can have a lovely meal overlooking the sea with a sunset to die for and we have seen alot of them! Hooray to them, we will see you soon Adonis and Parthinea.

Regards, Pegasus.

Hi,
Haven't heard anyone say in NW Corfu yet that the ATM's are empty. Perhaps, just scaremongering by the tabloids. Only time that I have known them to be low is on Bank Holiday weekends, when everyone is withdrawing funds. Been here for a while and no-one has said there is a problem here in the NW.
Perhaps someone from elsewhere on the island could have some input too!!

Hi
You will love it we have been going to Roda for over 30 years. Plenty of restaurants to choose from we eat most nights in the Dolphin Restaurant best fish and the Greek dishes are fantastic.  Quite a few Tavernas and bars, Pirates Bar my favourite.
Walk along the beach and turn up any of the side roads they will take you in to Acharavi - the Pump House Restaurant is very nice.
I am sure you will enjoy your holiday, friends of our stayed in the Theodora Fiona last year and loved it, they were right at the side of the pool in a little bungalow. There are plenty of walks to little villages.
Enjoy
