Just returned from Corfu with the first week of our holiday in Kaminaki. We stayed at Dinos Apartment (an Agni Travel property) right on the beach. The location is marvellous and just a few feet from the taverna. The resort is idyllic.
We visited many of the North Eastern resorts which apart from Kassiopi I had never been to before. In fact the only time I had been there it was fairly miserable. This time the sun was shining and the heat was on! That applied most of the time we were there except for a wonderful storm one evening which was superb! We were fortunate to meet up with Deedee and her Husband at Kalami and another day at Kassiopi which was a nice bonus. We had one day up in the hills via the Panorama Restaurant in Porta which was closed as we arrived early and then Old Perithia. I'm not sure how much longer it will be able to call itself 'Old' with a building now converted to a "boutique Bed and Breakfast"?! Still I had a lovely rabbit Stifado while in the village. So it was on to the West coast and Agios Gordis .... David |

Hi David, nice to have a fellow Greece lover in South Wales (probably more than the two of us I guess). I have thought once or twice about staying in Kaminaki, but there are a couple of things that have stopped me going. I usually stay at San Steph (N.E.). My reasons mainly are a number of tavernas to choose from, a busy little harbour, as I do enjoy my view from the balcony, easy access down by car and parking, and well stocked mini- markets.
So, how content do you think I would be at Kaminaki, judging from your own experience of the slightly larger N.E. resorts? I have been down there once and had a Sprite in one of the tavernas. It seemed lovely but I would be concerned a little about shoppiing for lunch etc., and perhaps the limited taverna choice, every evening (I prefer not to drive at night). |

Hello Colin. Your question sums up our experience. That was almost certainly heightened by the fact that we did visit San Steph (NE). It was my first time there and I must say I thought it was not only lovely but had those additional options which you describe.
Kaminaki is limited especially since it's last supermarket in the village is now closed. It still seemed busy and all the accommodation in the village was occupied apparently. A lot of people take the boat option to restaurants in other bays - most notably Taverna Agni. David David |
