Wow,
Just sat outside on the balcony watching the world go by and the olive grove next to our house is alight with fireflies. What an amazing spectacle. Surely don't see anything this wondrous in the UK. Back out again now just to watch them. Smile I just love to see them!!!

Hi Frilly,
You may do as when my brother Phil and his wife Gill came over in June they saw some. Just need to be out of areas with light pollution. I suppose it also depends on the weather, but at the moment they are amazing. Sorry, going to go outside again to watch them! Smile

OK, silly question I know, but do the firelies flash with different colours? I seem to be seeing some with orange/yellow flashes and some with green. I know, should have gone to Specsavers!!! Wink

Fireflies are mainly about during the month of May but as we have seen, some have appeared in the last week of April. They are also sometimes around during the first week of June, but I don't think they have been any later..

Mrs M I really have thought about an early jaunt or even end of season jaunt to Corfu, just need to put it into practice, the other half is away to Spain in a few weeks, should of told her to take her mam to Corfu instead, in fact she wouldve if the Three Brothers was a available, it sounds just as good before and after, fire flies & all Thumbs Up

They really are a magical sight Allan and one not to be missed. Even though we have visited a few times in May I have not seen such a gathering of them until last year. Just wish I could bring them home and stick them in my garden!!! You should give visiting in May a try though then you can experience the delight for yourself
