Flying from Manchester Saturday 18th August. First time with Easyjet. When booking flights no mention of in - flight meal?
Do they have meals on their flights, or shall we load up with butties etc. before boarding?

Hi,
There are no in flight meals with easyJet however you can buy snacks on board.

Probably just as well to buy airside before boarding. We fly from Gatwick and usually have a breakfast at the airport and then just buy coffee on board the plane.

Hi I usually buy food at the airport or have something to eat. There is light snacks, sandwiches, even soup served on board. I have seen people with there own plastic lunch boxes with stuff from home. There was certainly no shortage of snack food on board. Hope you have a lovely holiday.

I'm flying from Gatwick with my partner in September also on Easyjet for the first time. Is it a nightmare getting seats together and a rugby scrum getting on if you haven't got early boarding?

Don't worry about it. Used Easy jet lots of times and always managed to sit together and never had priority boarding.

We've just returned from 11 days in Corfu flying for the first time with Easyjet.  I have to say how impressed we were with them.  The planes were modern, clean and had far more leg room than some of the well known tour operators.

We didn't book Speedy Boarding but once the gate opened Richard was on a mission to get there as quickly as possible leaving me to hobble on with my dodgy knee.  Naturally all those with speedy boarding got the seats with more leg room but there was no problem getting seats together.  The same goes for the return leg.

Regarding on-board snacks, there are plenty of options available but given the opportunity I would buy a meal deal in Boots before boarding as two cups of coffee and two hot bacon baguetts came to the princely sum of £13 or €16!Shocked

We will definitely book with Easyjet again.

We have never had any problems or delays on easyjet and find them great to fly with. It was just a shame some other passengers dont know how to behave in a better manner. On our return journey last Sunday there were a group of four young people who nearly caused a accident wilst barging to get to the exit seats for extra legroom, after selecting seat on the exit row left middle seat gaps and when asked to move up told the steward a friend was in the toilet. They then removed their seat belt wilst the plane was just about to take off and then had fun videoing the take off with phones (yes switched on). They were rowdy throught the flight and seemed to think they had rock star status. During aproach to Gatwick as soon as the crew had taken seats for landing they removed seat belts again and one proceeded to switch his i pad on and another leaned over his seat to chat to some girls behind forcing one of the crew to leave her seat at final aproach to Gatwick and ask him to put his seatbelt on and the other man to switch his i pad off. One put his seat belt on one didnt and still had his nose in his i pad. The second the plane landed one was unbelted and back leaning over the back of his chair again and ignored the announcment to replace his belt. On leaving the aircraft they had great delight in taking the pee out of the lady crew members accent and we had to listen to it all the way to passport control. People who behave like this should be banned from further easyjet flights as far as im concerened as they are a danger to other people, seeing as they were on the exit seats Im sure they would of been fairly useless and intoxicated to be of any help in an emergency. julesxx

Can sometimes be a bit of a scrum but generally no probs, depends on the type of people who are boarding really! We have always managed to get sat together as a 4 and we go 2 or 3 times a year. Seats are comfortable and there is food available. We take snacks or a sandwich and buy a coffee or hot chocolate. Boots are quite good at Manchester for a meal deal. Flight is only 3 and a bit hours so it isnt exactly a long one. We have generally been impressed altogether, dont bother with priority boarding.
enjoy what you can when you can!

Interesting that is often a scrum for the Easy Jet flights to holiday destinations

My husband regularly used the daily Easy Jet run from Bristol to Amsterdam and there was never a scrum, everyone just filed in and filled up the first seats they came to

Just be aware that boots in the departure lounge at gatwick opens after the gate opens for the 05.55 flight so buy any sandwiches/snacks before you go through security and then get drinks in the newspaper shop..we got caught out in april and came prepared this last time.julesx

We always take sandwiches with us, and just get a drink from WH Smith or Boots once we have gone through security or on the plane, although I must admit I am not keen on drinking coffee out of cardboard cartons on the plane, so prefer to get a big bottle of water in Smiths.

Just be aware though what you take.

A friend of mine took a M & S ready made profiterole dessert for her trip to Cyprus, and it was confiscated by security at Manchester, as when the security guy read the ingredients, he said it would be possible to make a bomb out of it.

Dread to think what it does to your insides if that is the case!!!

Needless to say, my friend regretted not asking if she could eat it before going through security! She also asked  the M & S manager where she bought it, if he knew that he sold items which could make bombs!

I know security is a serious topic, but thought you may like it.

I was also looking forward to my customary, once a year, McDonalds Breakfast before boarding our 5.55 Easyjet flight.  I forgot to check just where McDonalds was at Gatwick North Terminal (hadn't been there in years) so missed out as it must have been before security!  I have to say the aforementioned hot bacon baguettes on the flight were extremely tasty although hellishly expensive with Costa coffee!!!Shocked

I have to agree that having travelled with EasyJet I was impressed by the leg room and new aircraft, we did do speedy boarding which was great and we were lucky to have good seats. Unfortunately we too suffered a large family party who got louder as the flight wore on, they were oblivious to others and sadly to say that they were from my own city.

Have been using easy since they started as a company. Flown Gatwick/Manchetser to Athens Corfu Morrocco and its my first choice if they fly to a destination Ime going to.
We have never wasted the extra for speedy bording even with a party of 12  just take the time to get to the gate early and you wont have trouble.
I agree that people with disabilities should get priorty and those with young children.
The staff take time to chat to everyone that wants a chat and the staff are the best Ive had the pleasure to fly with they all seem to enjoy what they are doing.
They should get the title ""The worlds favourite airline""
I hear people moaning about the rush to the plane BUT wheneverIive taken the time to ask what they paid its usually the cheapest price.
They now have 200plus aircraft so hey maybe they ve got something right and 95% capacity on most flights.
Our flight to Corfu a few weeks ago was full so no gaps in seats (those who do it take note).
Ive always made a point, from being in retail for many years, that if people are civil to you theylle be civil back.
So remeber whan you moan that youve not got the seat you wanted and paid £75 return use the other airlines and pay £200 and get no legroom.
I rest my case for using easyjet.
You want 5 star food 40 inch legroom use one of the middle eastern companies and see if you can get cheap returns.

We use Easyjet where possible, as their planes are more comfortable and if flights are booked in advance are normally very competitive price wise.

We always take our own food and buy a drink after going through security, normally a bottle of water and have occassionally bought drinks on the plane but rarely as the prices are obviously targetted to make up for the reduced air ticket prices.

Don't knock it until you have tried it, and in our experience they are one of the best airlines around

Having flown back from my Greek Odyessy via Easyjet from Corfu I will be thinking twice about ever using Easyjet again. I was glad I purchased speedy boarding 2 days before departure. I have never seen a rugby scrum like it, then whilst the speedy boarders were trying to get through the gate the rest were pushing and shoving like wild dogs circling a prey. I am being overly dramatic I know but that is what it felt like. One lady who had purchased speedy boarding was pushed out of the way and almost didn't get through. I had legroom a plenty but found the seats extremely uncomfortable. I can sleep on a barbwire fence and thinking a night flight I would sleep all the way back. Not a chance and I wasn't the only one. When we eventually arrived at Manchester, as we were descending we started a steep ascent agin. The flight crew had forgotton necessary checks. On landing it took nearly 2hrs to get our luggage, 1st shortstaffed and too many flights had landed at once and then they couldn't get the doors to the hold open. I know a lot of people like Easyjet, mostly because of the price but me I would rather pay a little more for a decent flight and a seat allocated. Bev
