Thinking of all who are caught up in this disaster and hope that the travel companies see sense about sending holiday makers to Kos.

We going in 4 1/2 weeks, not been put off unless FO advise against travel ... when Thomson would have no choice but to offer alternatives. We had to abandon hols to Egypt few years ago when the riots etc all kicked off. Planes weren't flying out anyway. I'm sure everything will settle down there soon, my sympathies too to all family and friends who may have been caught up in the quake.

Just back from enjoyable week first time in Kos. Only one slight tremor out at sea which locals were aware off whilst we were there. We stayed in Psalidi in hotel Platanista which is family owned and run and couldn't fault it. Had quick visit to Kos town which some of our family cycled to along purpose built cycle way but granddaughter and I caught bus for 1€ each way, I must say their buses were new sleek and modern which was surprise for a Greek island. Didnt stray far from hotel as kids loved the 2 huge pools, the nearby beaches here on east of the island were gritty shingle with stones into the sea but still had a dip. Weather was glorious with cloudless skies and temp averaging 38c every day ... northerly breeze kept temp bearable, and the best part was not a mozzie to be seen. Our tour rep said she'd been there since April and never seen one ... result. Lovely island to visit for weather and friendly locals but sadly not as picturesque as Corfu. Airport is very small with limited facilities too.

We visited Kos several years ago and had a lovely holiday. Wish I had lots of money so I could visit my favourite places again.
