Just booked Dina's Paradise for August 2016. Tried Kalami this year and had a lovely time but missed our friends in AG.

It's strange the differences you find from one coast to another. We also missed:

1. A frosted glass for our beers! Didn't get a single one in Kalami.
2. Somewhere that did amazing cocktails in gorgeous surroundings (like Madison Garden!)
3. Handmade pizzas cooked in a wood fire oven (the places in AG do amazing pizzas!)
4. The sunsets
5. Clear blue skies at all times (Kalami gets it's fair share of cloud and rain, due to the geography of the area. Not that we really minded, it was quite refreshing.)
6. Having fun in the waves (no waves in Kalami unless a cruise ship goes by!)

On the other hand, what we didn't mind missing was:

1. Wasps
2. Seaweed
3. Sand in everything!

So here's looking forward to next year!

Me too but to Kassiopi as always.
We usually get away twice a year went to Tunisia earlier this and soon in Kassiopi.
Next year will probably be just once as have house things to do.

We did Aghios Georgios North this year and want to try Agios Gordios next year. How does it compare with the likes of Kassiopi which is where we normally go. This year we had a lovely hotel but the resort was too quiet for us...not many options for evening. Would A.G. give us this??SmileSmile

Agios Gordios is not the night life capital of the west coast but there is always something going on. Several locations have their regular Greek Nights and themed evenings. Some locations just have some local musicians to entertain their guests. If you are one for cocktails in the evening there are several locations that will fit the bill. For late night drinks and good music there is Robins Nest. At both Alo-Bar and Mikes Bar have regular Tribute Bands and live musicians playing all sorts of music. Food is mainly Greek/Mediterranean cuisine but there is a Mexican in the resort. There is a little of everything to suit most tastes in the resort. Like Kassiopi they get many repeat visitors so they must be doing something right.

Thank you Colin. We are only looking for a few different places to eat and have a drink...nothing more. What you have described would appear to be more than adequate. SmileSmile

Go for it Vatfall - it's a lovely little place with plenty of restaurants along the beach and dotted through the village and it's very scenic. It's not as sprawling as some of the resorts, so has a village feel.

I agree with LeeLee, the resort has that family feel where personal service means everything. I have just returned from the resort with a friend who it was their first visit to the resort. They have visited several resorts on the island over the years but have fallen in love with the resort. They intend to return next year with the rest of the family.
In common with several locations in the resort that have a pool, you may use their facilities as long as you purchase your food and drink onsite. As to Greek Nights there is one location that is more of a family affair than one of the "Set Piece" displays. As I do not want to advertise, if you are interested in the location, feel free to PM me for details.

Just booked to stay at Mazis Apartment in August. Went to Agios Gordis about 7 years ago but have been to St Georges south for the last couple of years and loved the place. Time for a change this year.

Well done, a location with a great view over the bay. It was where I had my first holiday in Agios Gordios. Spiros is a great host and the view from the balconies are second to none. It is quiet a climb up the hill but well worth the effort. You are also free to use the pool at Lidio Sofia which is dead opposite Mazis. Thumbs Up Cool

Great video, thanks. Recognise a lot of that. I noticed a place with quad bikes for rent. Do you know what they charge. Normally get one for a day to look around the area.

I am not a Quad bike fan, I have seen too many people who do not have the skills to ride them come a cropper. Ouch There are a couple of places where you can hire them, you will have to ask prices on arrival.

Thanks, and I know what you mean. Not one of the nutters who bomb around, take it nice and steady. Safer than a bike. Normally only do 7 day hols but gone for 10 this time, so might look at a car for 3 days instead.

Even if you take it steady its the other nutters on the road who would worry me.

Not only that. You need to check your Travel Insurance to make sure that you are covered as many don't.

As we are staying for 10 days we will probably get a car for 3. Any idea of the price?

Can someone tell me if Jenny's is on a hill? I would ideally like somewhere relatively flat, central and with a pool.

Jennys Studios are nearly on the main street opposite Sebastians Taverna. There is a path alongside the church.
