Anyone have any info on this place? Trip advisor reports are good but we've never been before. Is it worth going to? Do you walk along the beach to it? Thanks for any help

Black Rocks is located at the northern end of the beach and you have to walk to visit. The location is the site of the old International Hotel/White House on the Rocks. It is well worth a visit, you can enjoy some great views and at the same time have some food and drinks. For a snack, I would recommend the "Club Sandwich." It is served with chips and is a real plate full. You are also able to visit the beaches on the other side of the location where the shipwreck is.

We enjoyed a walk along to Black Rocks September last year and it was well worth it. Sat for quite a while sipping our drinks and enjoying the view. Would visit again but not in flip flops!!
What is this life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare.

Is it more of a lunchtime place? How long is the walk? Seeing as we're going in August would it be best to get there early and set up camp nearby? Do they have sunbeds and umbrellas?

There is very little sand there, it very stony, its only about half a mile.
I sometimes swim along then climb up the ladders provided.
A good tip is to have your other half waiting with a cool drink and a towel j x

This year there is a lot more sand at the northern end of the beach. Walking along the tide line is possibly the best option as the pathway at the top of the beach is of large pebbles. As there is no lighting, a daytime visit would be best.

Thanks folks.

I think we'll go to the north end of the beach and take a walk up there for lunch. We are usually south enders so the change will do us good!

Be sure that when you visit Black Rocks that you also check out the small beaches on the far side of Black Rocks. In one of the coves, there is a shipwreck. It is the rusting hulk of a fishing boat that APPEARED on the beach around January 2014. It was thought to have been carrying illegal immigrants, the boat was found but not the passengers.

It is a nice place to relax and enjoy a great view across the bay. It is so peaceful and there is the chance to explore on the far side in the small coves. If you decide to do this, make sure that you have suitable footwear. After an exhausting visit make sure that you try the food and drink that they have to offer. Spiros and the family look after their guests.

I have often wandered down to that end of the beach to the little cove you mention, maybe about seven years ago there was a little clearing in the trees and shrubbery and when I walked through it was really eerie, there were a few cabin type places and a tropical looking bar with a big poster of Che-Guavara behind! No sign of life either. It felt like I'd walked into some secret jungle hideout!!!
Hence to say I got away pretty fast.
Did you ever see this place and please tell me it wasn't that scary!

I never saw the place you are talking about but I here it was built from items washed up on the beach. To the best of my knowledge it is no longer there. You still have to walk through a grove of high growing bamboo like plants on the other side of Black Rocks. I would only say it was scary if you did it after dark. In one of the small coves you talk about is a shipwreck on the beach. A small fishing boat believed to have been used by illegal immigrants.

I love Black Rocks, probably my favorite place in all Corfu to spend the day, have lunch, swim sunbathe, walk, early evening mojito watch the sunset, best of all would be then to have dinner there and stay in their re-opened apartments behind the beach. (I think I saw them on owners direct) huge rooms apparently someone was telling me last year.

Hi Julie,

We walked all along the beach last year and it was very quiet after Black Rocks with a few nudists around. Most folks stay on the beach in front of the tavernas but lots of lovely, quiet places if you are willing to walk along the beach a little. Just turn right onto the beach when you get to the bottom of the road.

Davy- the place Carol was talking about was sfter Black Rocks about another 10 minutes walk along the beach, it had disappeared last year.
