Is there a bakery in Paleo- where they bake and sell their own cakes, pastries and bread?
Also is there a gyros snack bar or two, either eat in or takeaway?
If you could tell me, roughly where abouts they are located would be great too.
One more thing, where to get a weather forecast, I go on Friday 4 May and it would be good to know what to expect weather wise.
Smile

Don't know about a bakery.  I know there are a few places where you can get gyros. We like the one at the beach where the car park is, next to the ATM Machine.

Hi Jollys,
There is a small bakery next door to the Apollon hotel at the main beach. (where the bus service starts/finishes)
As for gyros, The Greek Way grill is great. Let me put it this way. We were having a meal there last year and a local priest from the monastery came out of this major MOT failure car to order the monasteries carry out. You should have seen the size of the bag he walked into his wreck/car with. Ten minutes later a police car arrived for their carry out. Need I say more Wink.

If you let me know where you are staying, I should be able to tell you how far you are from these places.

Kind Regards
Tom and Marion

Hi Jollys,
You are right in the middle of both places.
Come out of where you are staying and turn left,  the bakery is about 5/6 mins away. Again, come out and turn right and The Greek Way is about 5/6 mins away next door to the Maria Studios (where we are staying for three weeks from 9th June).

The views where you are staying are great and the owners are very nice. We have not stayed there but have had a couple of drinks there.

Hope you have a great holiday.

ps. The Maria Studois/Faros bar is also a great place to eat and have a drink.

Kind Regards
Tom and Marion

Hi Jollys, say hi to Niko at the Belvedere pool bar for us, oh and Paleogirl if she is there. Stayed there a few years and really enjoyed it. Food at the Belvedere is good too and as the name suggests the view is beautiful.
its nice to be important but its more important to be nice

Thanks for the directions Tom and Marion, you have a great holiday too.
I will  say hi to Niko from Rocdoc Tongue  but I believe (from an earlier thread) that Paleogirl possibly goes later than myself.

Yes I'm later this time-going on the 24th May. Have a fabulous time Jollys.

Please pass my love to the family at the Belvedere-I will see them soon. Also pop up to the Odysseus Hotel across the road where I stay-lovely terrace to enjoy a very civilised drink before dinner.

The bakery next to the Appollon has lovely pastries, sandwiches etc. Nice lady in there who I speak to every trip but drat I can't remember her name.

I have the weather app on my phone-it's gonna be mid 20s. Try www.meteo.gr for up-to-date weather. There is an English version-tab at the top.

Enjoy.
I can close my eyes and see Paleo but it's not the same.........Roll on my next trip.
