Got back home on the 20th.
Nothing much changes on Paxos thankfully. The pot holes are larger and deeper. Road from Loggos up to Lakka is bad with potholes on the corners waiting for the unwary.
We had a lovely private, rustic little villa with a lovely warm pool and loads of garden areas. Could not see any other properties and only the occasional head going by. It is owned by Shakespear's favorite mad chef Alexandros. I tried to explain he knew the red haired lady and Josh but it was hard work but if we go to his Taverna we will get free wine !
We hired Roxi 5 again but only for 5 days this time. Going down towards Gaios one day we saw a fin rise.
We slowed to a dawdle and had a small pod of dolphin playing around us with a mother and young rising as a pair next to us. This went on for 4 - 5 minutes until one large one rose and gave a wag of his tail like a whale and they went off. Amazing. Roxi have a new Marea 19 boat as 5 and 6. It will be 7 when they get the papers through.
Another day we came out of Gaios after lunch and saw the sky over Corfu and the mainland was black with a storm. We went straight up to Loggos and dropped anchor in the bay behind the breakwater. After about 15 minutes the storm hit us and the water changed from calm to wild. We got the boat back to Roxi Bar and received praise for our effort from among others Captain Nikos Jnr!
After 11 visits we finally got to eat at Tollis and 4 Seasons. l did like 4 Seasons. l had always thought they were expensive where the posh people go. Wrong. They go to the one where the bus squeezes through but how could you eat with that smell.
Dina's is the same Tongue   O Gios is not.   Cornelia only does lunches and Effi works at the butchers in Lakka.
We saw Jeffs car parked in Lakka and his rib moored by the sea taxi.
Thought we had seen Elaine on Saturday 17th at Dina's but the lady was not very pleasant and said no l am not. She was eating with the posh people on Sunday with the smell.

So all over until 4th June 2018. Big smile

One thing that l ponder. Why do people come out at night with sun glasses on their head?
Is it to show off you have Ray Bans or something similar?
If it made me look posh l would do it but they would slide off my head Confused !!

Sunglasses are a real help if you have hayfever. I often wear mine in the evening.

Oh Malcy you have made me laugh! What with smells sun glasses and snotty woman!LOL

Got to agree though about the sunglasses and about trying to understand Alexandros! I swear he has a language all of his own. Such a lovely man though. It's a wonder he didn't ask you to have a cup of tea...raki hidden in a teapot!! So funny and a great host!

Sorry I missed you Malcy. It didn't help of course, not having a clue what you look like and I soon found that giving what I hoped were encouraging smiles to every passing couple of a certain age (of which there are rather a lot in June) got me nothing but strange looks in return! We didn't actually make it to Dina's until the Monday, having been waylaid by Dimitris at La Conchiglia on the Sunday night. That's the one on the front that only opened last year, but it has very rapidly become our new Loggos fave. It's a little bit dearer than most of the others, but the food is definitely worth it and we're very much hoping that it will take a lot of custom away from the smelly one that we haven't been to for years now - as we aren't into posing and do have a bit more sense than money
I wasn't lost - I was just taking an interesting detour!

Elaine - Sorry we didn't meet. I was sure you were there. But we did visit Tollis and 4 Seasons for the first time and well impressed by 4 Seasons.
I know the one you mean on the front. Near where the Mini Market was. Overlooked by Keith's Southampton banner! Had a look at the menu, will look again next year as O Gios much as we love Angelica has gone up over Dina's prices and Tollis and 4 Seasons are good value so could have a few euros to average spend elsewhere Smile  Thumbs Up
As for the poser's; Yes.

Glad we aren't due to go home tomorrow - still got almost 2 more weeks here. But we've just heard that the hydrofoil's been cancelled due to strong winds    The replacement boat for the early morning crossing goes at 6:30 and takes about 2 hours - not something I'd be looking forward to in rough seas, there are already quite a few white horses out there!

Lefcothea would call them Little Donkeys!

We had booked Despina each way. Half the cost of Illida. Despina broke so we had to go over on Illida,   extra 27 euro.

Despina is great in a good sea Elaine Big smile

Corfu airport on a Tuesday is so much more bearable.

Sorry Elliemay. We won't get there, but we will have some lovely times with the van as we go along.
Wales for the first time? The Lake District? When l was 15 did the sin of taking the stone OFF the calne at the top of Scarfell Pike and gave it to my Mum. It was until then the highest point in England. So l could take it back but other worthy souls have added to the calne.

I think they must be a bit bigger than little donkeys this morning Malcy, the wind's coming from the north and I've seen a couple of yachts with their sails up whizzing across the bay towards Gaios at quite a fair rate of knotts!

We took the Despina from Corfu the first year it was running just to try it out and it was fine, but having had a few near-puke situations in the days before the coming of the hydrofoils, I prefer to spend as little time as possible in the channel between Corfu and Paxos, so we usually opt for Illida whenever possible

Glad the Tuesday flights worked well for you and hope you have a lovely time up in the Lakes. I presume you won't be taking the caravan over Hardknott & Wrynose!

Would love to have been on one of those Elaine.
Have been there Thumbs Up

So have you been to one of Pony Tails Jam Sessions yet.
He doesn't like me. Didn't bring him the Linda Barker tape episode.

Yes, we've had a few good Thursday sessions in Taxidi, it's a shame that this Thursday will be our last night because it's Spiros's birthday on Wednesday so I can see this week's session turning into a bit of an event and we'll have to leave early(ish!)

Had a great night last night though, the Paxos Festival had organised a concert of Irish and Greek folk music in the grounds of the old schoolhouse. It was magical sitting outside, listening to great music with an almost full moon directly above the stage. Took me back to all the folk festivals of my youth!
I wasn't lost - I was just taking an interesting detour!
