Thanks Deedee,

Do you know how they work? Do you get a key and are you able to access them all the time, or can you only access your belongings when reception is open?

Many thanks.

Assuming the revamp of reception hasn't changed things, it's a two key system.  You get a key and reception hold the master key, it takes both keys to open the box so you can only access your box when reception is open.  It is usually open 16 hrs a day though, 8 am to midnight.

Hi Deedee
Thanks, that was also very helpful for us to know the layout at A&A as we are coming to these apartments this year.
As we have booked with Thompson, do you know if we have any say which room we get. Do Thompson guests have particular areas allocated or do we just have pot luck..just thought you might know.. Also I wondered whether we get cooling fans provided or do we have to book those before hand?

Hi Stevroz

Thompson is the only tour operator offering the A & A and they have most of the units there apart from a few that the family who run the A & A let direct.  The apartments are built in blocks up the hillside with each one at a different angle so all have views and the vast majority of them have great sea views.  Which block you are in largely depends on what type of unit you have booked - there are studios for 2 (blocks 1 & 6), studios for 3  (blocks 4 & 6 and I think block 3), apartments for 3 (blocks 1 & 5, refurbished in 2008, very nice) and apartments for 4 people (block 2, I think).  You could try asking Thompson to put a note on your booking or emailing the A & A direct to ask for a particular block.  The A & A's own website is http://www.asonitisadonis.com.
Fans are not provided automatically, they can be hired from reception.  I am not 100% sure but I think that the refurbished apartments may have air conditioning that you can pay extra for.

We'll be making our 12th visit to the A & A in September.  I hope you enjoy staying there and have a great holiday.

I have just been on the Thomson 2013 website and they are adverting studios with two beds. We like to stay on the 400 level and I think our studio has always had three single beds in it. Does anyone know if any of the studio on level 4 has two beded units. I have emailed Gina but not sure how active A & A are this early in the season.

Thanks for all that information Deedee, it was very helpful.
We have been to Kalami a few times before but never stayed at the A&A.

Thanks also to Deedee, you have confirmed that the studios for 2 are level 1 & 6 - one is two low and the other too many steps. If we want level 4 we need to book studio for 3. These forums are so useful.

Hi Ashby8

There are 4 different levels to block 6 and one of them is level with block 4 so minimal steps (lift up to block 4 level).  Can't honestly remember whether that was the studios for 2 or the studios for 3 though (we've stayed in both).
We were in block 1 last year and had a beautiful view of Kalami bay.  They are next to the bar though so there is inevitably some noise.

Roll on September, apparently it's only 19 weeks away!  Deedee Big smile

Graham T-A, I'm with you on this one, the pictures look lovely and the reception now looks bright and fresh, not forgetting the beautiful Gina.

I couldn't wait until September to see it so I've registered on Facebook and visited the Cocktails & Dreams page.  Saw lots of photos but none of new reception.  Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong?

Click on the link I gave, wait for a little while for the piccies to come in if your link is slow and then just scroll down the page and there should be 3 pictures on this page.
