Tina - My Thong is not gold lame. I have better taste!!
If you could see me whilst on hols in Loggos you would see that my preference is blue!
I would add that I can always be found with my wife of 42 years to avoid confusion!

Jeff - That sounds like a lovely drive. Via the alps then a ferry?
Are you towing the rib?
Just bought another MX5. Would love to drive all the way to Loggos.
Starting to get in the mood for our 8th time from 14th June.
I need Paxos!!

Well, Paxos (and Anti-Paxos) are as wonderful as everSmile

We were in Lakka on (Greek) Easter Sunday and then visited Emerald Bay on Monday, before spending the night in Gaios.

The Easter processions were very interesting and quite atmospheric - it was a priviledge to be able to witness them.

Unfortunately, this being Easter Sunday, both Stasinos Gardens and the Harbour Lights bar (in Lakka) were closed, so we had to make alternative arrangements - we ate in the only taverna open in the square (and they were struggling due to under-estimating the number of foriegn visitors) and then moved on to Romantica.

The wind was a bit too strong for us to spend very long in Emerald Bay (a shame because we were the only yacht there!) so moved on the Gaios.  By the time we got there (mid afternoon) most places were open although a few were still observing the Easter closure.  We has an excellent meal in Taka-Taka at the back of the village.

All in all, a most enjoyable visit.

Yes Malcy
We first towed it in 2007 as a 'once in a lifetime; idea,,,, and it spoilt us so much we have done it ever since. We use the channel tunnel and the Ancona to Igoumenitsa ferry. For the first 2 years went via Switzerland but found their obsession with speed limits and a hatred of trailers ( ) a bit wearing and then for the next 4 via the Mont Blanc >>> Dartford/Dijon/Mont Blanc/Reggio Emilia/Ancona. This year we plan to try the Frejus tunnel for a change of scenery
Its quite a load > me, the missus, dive compressor, dive kit for 3 and 1600kg of trailer. (no space for lamé thongs)
Thanks heavens for Volvo XC70 and a roofbox !!
We all need Paxos
Hope I manage to spot you this year

Jeff

A drive across Europe in an open top sounds lovely - you wouldn't be a constrained to the toll roads as we are - then again, think of those lovely Paxos pot holes and your suspension

Sounds lovely Martyn, you can always trust Romantica to be open
Are you out sailing the Ionian for most of the summer?

Hi Jeff

Oh, how I wish!  No, this was just a seven day cruise with a few friends on a charter yacht from Gouvia.

We did, however, make it to Sivota/Mourtos, Plateria, the NAOK marina just south of the Old Fort in Corfu Town (one of the crew hadn't been to Corfu before and wanted to see the buildings in the old town) before finishing of in San Stephanos (NE).

The original plan was also to head down to Lefkas and Spartahori, but with only 7 nights, we concluded that the passage to/from the Southern Ionion was a push too far with no margin for bad weather delays.

In the end, we probably made the right decision as otherwise we may have been caught out in the Wednesday evening thunderstorm.

Yep all included...
Flight times on the way out not great, fully expecting to spend the first night in Corfu but at the price I'm not going to complain!

3rd time in 4 years can't wait to get back
