We're going 14th June, a week later than normal so expext our second week may be a bit busier than we are used to. But I'm sure the sisters at O'gios will fit us in and the view will still be as nice at O'nassos!! and Roxy Bar will still have a boat for 9 days.
Any news of Jeremy's baby???

Could be, Tina - depends upon whether we make Lakka or Sivota/Mourtos our first stop after leaving Gouvia (before heading for the Southern Ionion).

Sorry, what was that??
We've booked again for next year at Martha but I think that will probably be our last in a villa with pool.
I think we will have to lower our sights as OAP's in the future. BUT WILL STILL HAVE THE BOAT NO MATTER WHAT. Even if Spiros and the boy's have to help me on with my zimmer frame!

Zimmers and 'Madge' scooter hire  >>> could be a new business venture Wink

Perhaps those of us approaching a certain age could get a discount

Oh dear Jeff - If I still had that scooter.

Could we perhaps look at retro scooters for hire!!

Mine was a Vespa GS 160 with front and back rack, spare wheel, crash bars, mirrors and a naughty girl as pilllion for the weekend at Yarmouth.
I told my mother that weekend l was staying at my mates in Cambridge.
She saw me on the BBC News riding along the prom at Yarmouth!!!

First two weeks of May for Easter and the Christening of Tolis' and Efroula's (sp?) little one, then the first two weeks of September. Tears of angst and frustration then, from mid May to late August.
Oh, why not. Just a small one.

Sam, has Afroula had another baby, or is this Marielena's (sp?) christening?

ElaineK, in Greece, traditionally babys are not baptised and officially named until more than a year old. In the past there were high mortality rates of newborns, so if a child were to be named and later passed away, the name would be lost within the family as children are named after grandparents.
So you can make a guess for yourself.
Jesus wants me as a sunbeam. And a jolly good sunbeam am I.

Thanks Bob.  I thought that was the case, but was just checking in case I needed to bring a present with me in July Smile
I also recall reading that a lot of parents still don't even call their children by their names until they've been baptized and before that they're just known as "the baby", so as we had been told this baby's name last summer, I thought maybe she had already been christened.
I wasn't lost - I was just taking an interesting detour!

Hello Elaine,

It's Marelena (sp?).  I got the impression that they almost defaulted to an Easter setting, as though that were a well trod path.

By the way, would you happen to know whether Paxiot custom has it that a present is to be given to the baby, to the parents, or to both?  If ever there was a forum in which to ask such a question, this has to be it.

All best,

Sam.

Could I ask a simple question talking about babies, please?
Did Jeremy and his wife  (Roxy Bar) have a happy event last October?
I don't want to give a present any more than a big hug to both!

Its definite! Its final! No changing my mind! This is it... I'm not coming this year!!!

Dear hubby will be 60 this coming Christmas Day. So this calls for a celebration holiday and so we have booked to go back to Thailand. This being over the Christmas period means it will cost an arm and a leg so belts will have to be tightened and no, absolutely NO dreaming of Paxos this summer! Cry

Why oh why couldn't either of us have born in the summer! It would have been a lot cheaper.

On this miserable wet Sunday hubby was just in the kitchen baking bread made with olives and I've caught him about to put my best olive oil from Paxos in it! He has had a right telling off I can tell you. Did he not realise I can't get any this year!! How much did he need! 6!! 6 tablespoons! I don't think so! He has now jumped into the car to go and get some cheap olive oil!! LOL

I may not be going but I shall listen from afar be green with envy  Dead as all your holidays approach and I'm sure I'll chip in now and then just so as you don't forget this poor soul who can't make it this year. CryCryCry
Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life!
Helen :)

I know just how you feel Helen, we have decided to save the pennies and not go this year, unless we can get an absolute bargain!UnhappyThumbs Down

Hopefully I will see the family if I have a get together of Cousins etc to celebrate my specail year this summer. I decided to celebrate early so we can meet up and hopefully enjoy some good weather, rather than in deep dark November.

So I will enjoy hearing all your stories too, but am so envious as friends are retrning in September and introducing 2 more Paxos newbies. First weeks of school so can't really join them unfortunately.

Now off to see if any kind sole has saved details of when airlines put out next years timetables so I can book flights as soon as they come out at not too eye watering cost.
