Kerasia Corfu

Back to Top of Kerasia PageKerasia

Kerasia is a quiet cove situated between Kouloura and Agios Stephanos. It is mainly just one long sweeping beach and is quite stunning. There is just one Taverna and a scattering of villas. During lunchtime, the occasional day trip boat may arrive - but they soon depart! The Rothschild's have a holiday home on the headland - Prince Charles and Lord Sainsbury are regulars.

Back to Top of Kerasia PageWho is the Resort for

It is an idyllic 'get away from it all' setting. Young families and couples who want peace and quite. A place to read! You would need a car or boat though if you wanted to visit other areas - walking may be too far. There are numerous coastal walks in the area - for those with the energy. Kerasia may be too quiet for teenage children - although nearby St Stephanos may interest them!

Type

Shingle. There are board walks on the beach.

Sunbeds

Widely available on Kerasia beach , also umbrellas. Small charge for these per day.

Facilities

There are showers, toilets and changing areas available.

Child Suitability

Kerasia beach is child friendly, it is flat and the water is quite shallow for a little way out, it then deepens quickly so caution is always recommended.

Accessibility

Once at the resort Kerasia is flat and there is plenty of parking rigfht on the beach although the drive down can be a bit hairy!!

Cleanliness and Urchins

Kerasia is a Blue Flag Beach, this is the EEC award for recommended beaches. It is extremely clean and there are no sea urchins

Back to Top of Kerasia PagePlaces of Interest

There is nothing else there - except the nearby Rothschild Estate - you could try to pop by for tea!

Back to Top of Kerasia PagePlaces Nearby

The livelier resort St Stephanos is a 15 mins walk (via road/track). 10 mins walk to Kouloura. 45 mins walk to Agni.

Agni Bay

Agni Bay: In Greek Agni means un-spoilt and this describes Agni perfectly - just three Tavernas (each with their own jetty for mooring up to) and a sprinkle of local buildings. The bay is reached mainly by rented motor boats, although recently there is now a narrow road down into the bay. Each evening we offer a 'Speed Boat' taxi service, from surrounding bays to Taverna Agni. The above video shows the exciting experience.

Nissaki

Nissaki Corfu Agni Travel

Nissaki is a small pretty resort with a horseshoe-shaped beach, offering excellent swimming and water sports. There are several tavernas specialising in local cuisine. A small harbour shelters the many little fishing boats that are moored there and there is a jetty/collection point for the Taverna Agni water taxi which offers an evening service to Taverna Agni and a twice-weekly trip to Corfu Town

Krouzeri Beach

Kalami Corfu Agni Travel

Krouzeri has a long beach (sandy and pebbles) offering safe swimming, water sports and diving. Beachside tavernas provide welcome refreshments to those enjoying the beach and excellent snorkelling. The nearby Nissaki Beach Hotel offers a swimming pool which is open to non-residents, a restaurant and bar and, during the evening a low-key disco. There is a jetty/collection point for the water taxis which operate in the area.

Kalami

Kalami Corfu Agni Travel

Kalami: The bay of Kalami nestles below the hills of the North East Corfu and is famous for both its beautiful beach, and Lawrence Durrell's 'White House'. A popular destination for couples, Kalami is also ideal for a family holiday with tavernas, safe swimming, water sports and boat hire - everyone is catered for!

Back to Top of Kerasia PageHow to get there by Car

Follow the main road from Corfu town towards Kassiopi, as you reach the North East of the island you will notice the roads become particularly narrow and windy, go careful mirrors have been placed on bad bends to help you. Go past the Kalami turnoff continue on the main road as you near Kassiopi you will see a signpost to Agios Stephanos on your right. Take this turning and follow the narrow winding road down through the olive groves, you will come across a fork in the road with a sign to Avlaki on your left and Agios Stephanos on your right , take the right hand turn and follow the road down to Agios Stephanos, again this road is narrow in parts and windy so be careful, there are some wonderful photo opportunities as you travel down this road. At the bottom of the road you will need to drive through the village of stephanos, watch out for people and animals as you drive through the village, follow the road that goes up at the end, Continue on this road and this will take you straight into Kerasia, You can park right on the beach.
