Kalamaki Corfu

Kalamaki is mainly a beach resort, situated between Agios Spiridon and Kassiopi. Down a winding narrow and extremely steep road you will find the sandy beach stretching across the bay of kaminaki. The view here is across to Albania in front of you and to your right the top beach at Kassiopi is visible. Many boat trips stop at this sandy beach making it popular during the summer months

Families and couples looking for a beach holiday with a sandy beach. Kalamaki is quite a small village so therefore quiet, although the main part of the resort is the beach and this can get busy at peak times during the summer.

There are no showers or toilets on Kalamaki beach although most Tavernas will allow allow you to use their toilets if you purchase a drink

Kalamaki is a child friendly beach it is away from the road and flat also the water is shallow and shelves off gently. In fact you have to wade out about 50 meters before it is deep enough to swim!

The beach is flat although there is a very steep incline to get to the beach from the main road.

There are no urchins here and the beach is fairly clean.

There are no places of interest around Kalamaki, it is very small. Kassiopi is nearby - about a 10 min walk - where you can visit the fort, or take a boat trip from the harbour to other places of interest on the island.

As above, the lively resort of Kassiopi is a short walk away. The beach of St Spiridon is about a 5 minute drive.

Take the main coastal road out of Kassiopi, following the signs to Acharavi. Continue on this road looking out for the sign for Kalamaki Beach Taverna and the 'To the beach sign' There doesn't appear to be an actual sign for Kalamaki! If you follow the sign for the taverna it will take you down to the Kalamaki beach. The turning is on your right. Be careful as the road is extremely steep and narrow. There is plenty of parking right by the beach at the bottom of the road.

One situated overlooking the beach at Kalamaki, serves typical Greek cuisine.

Two beach bars line Kalamaki beach, they both serve drinks and snacks and are open during the evening.

Since Kalamaki is a pure beach resort there is no water sport available in Kalamaki.

Kassiopi is the nearest town to exchange money. On the main road as you drive towards the town Yannis car hire is the nearest place to exchange travellers cheques.

There is one public pool bar, situated on the main road as you leave Kalamaki, turning on your left as you go towards Kassiopi.

There is a telephone by the first beach bar in Kalamaki right on the beach. This is a card phonebox and cards can be purchased from shops locally.

Kalamaki is a relatively safe beach for children, there are no other facilities here.

Although the beach here is extremely flat if coming to Kalamaki by car you can park on the beach, however the taverna is up a steep hill and there are no disabled toilets.
