Babies Nappies and Agni Stuff

So what has been happening? - We want baby news I here you cry. Well, I have been answering your emails as fast as I can with 'baby facts' such as:

  • D.O.B: 3rd Nov 2001

  • Weight: 3.6kg

  • Identifying feature: Loads of hair!

During last summer, many customers made unnerving comments such as: 'Get loads of sleep now - because you'll need it' or 'it will change your life forever'. Most though, failed to mention that it would be such a wonderful experience. Our waking up at half-three in the morning to our screaming little 'bundle of joy' may not be the moments to remember or capture on video, but I just pick her up for a cuddle and melt into those huge dark eyes looking up  me - yes it is all worth it.

Took baby Aphrodite down to the Taverna this morning - we take her out most days in front of the disapproving neighbours - most local Greeks say that 'baby' should not go out until after the first 40 days. The weather is so good at the moment though and she just loves it - there is just so much to see. She wasn't very impressed with the Taverna though - it does look so different when it is closed. Incidentally Greeks do not usually name their babies until they are one year old; when they are christened. Until then they are called 'beba' - for a baby girl or 'bebas' for a boy.

Agni Bay - Nov 30th

 A very closed looking Taverna!

With December here already, we are making plans for Christmas. I think it's great to have a new-born baby at Christmas. My parents will be coming over to visit. Before you negatively comment, I am rather looking forward to seeing them! Plus the offer of additional grandparent babysitters should never be turned down! Not that Eleni's parents are not pulling their weight. Being their first grandchild, you try keeping them away!

     Taverna News

As you may have noticed, I am currently undertaking the long awaited website revamp. This actually happened sooner than planned. I had been fiddling with new designs and styles - wanting to remove those annoying 'frames' - when early one morning, (at about 4am I think!), I uploaded the new 'test' pages that I was working on and accidentally wiped all the website! With no real backup to speak of, I have had to go ahead and revamp and before you ask, the webcam is back up and running. The design and implementation of the website takes much more time than you can imagine, but new content is what I am after. I need your help! - any photos, ideas or articles  please send - I can only improve things if I know what you want.

Well our best wishes for the coming festivities and I will be back with an update in the new year.

So sweet!

Mother and baby

They keep taking photos of me - it's so hard being a celebrity

     Last Months Competition

Last months competition. The picture was of boats in Kouloura harbour, but it was turned sideways! The winners are Chris and Donna - They always sit at table 5 and have requested as a prize not a bottle of wine but, a copy of the tape that Spiro our boat taxi man plays!
