Getting To Corfu | Corfu Airport

Corfu Airport

Corfu Baggage

Back to Top of Page
Corfu airport is a new, clean and modern airport. When you arrive you are quickly through the customs check as you are coming from and to a country in the European Union. Then it is through to collecting your baggage!! This can be a long process, depending on how many other aircraft have landed around the same time as you. Monday is the busiest day of the week and this is when you may have to wait quite some time for your luggage. A long wait is not always the case if you arrive at a quieter time, you can have your luggage within about twenty minutes or so and be away to your waiting transport to take you to your resort.
Returning to the airport, always a bit depressing after a lovely holiday on Corfu, can be a bit of a battle checking in as the check in hall is not really large enough for the amount of aircraft that depart at a similar time, making the hall very crowded, again especially on Mondays, when one aircraft after another departs to the various regional airports in the UK. This again is not the case if you can plan your flight on a quieter day. Once through to the departure lounge, there is a large amount of seating, shops to buy those last minute souvenirs and reminders of Corfu, a cafe and bar, serving drinks, coffee and snacks and all the normal facilities you would expect to find at an airport. It becomes a little crowded at the really busy times, but as one group boards their plane it makes room for those coming through and through personal experience seems to work well even on the busy days.
